RFF EuroMeet, Florence, April 10-11 2010

Ohhh....almost there.I will be in Florence on 21-26 of April  Anyway lots of people already.Nobody mention about places to visit in Florence? Is there any interesting places we must visit as our interest is incline to art, painting, photography and architecture?

You can also come to Bologna (where I currently study, happy Erasmus!) which is a gorgeous city and like, the most perfect place for RF shooting. Here's a little advertising with my Hi-Matic F.

Bologna Centrale
A dog waiting for somebody to feed it (though it/he had two very nice owners which are not those on the picture) on Piazza Santo Stefano
After last week snow falls.

Bologne is only one hour away from Florence with the regional trains, and 36 minutes with the new fast link, but it's 1€/minute and 72km of tunnels out of 76km.

Two and a half weeks to go - anyone else interested in coming? Looks like it'll be a good giggle.

I've been a lurker here for quite some time. I am from the U.S., New Orleans specifically, but I am studying in the UK for the semester. I will be in Italy from April 3 - 10/12. I don't think I will be in Florence for the weekend though.

As of now my plans are: Rome 3rd-5th; Florence 6th; Cinque Terre 6th-8th; Venice 9th-10th/12th. The end of my Italian trip is fairly flexible as I have an EUrail pass for the month, but my friends and I are going to try to make it to Prague, various cities in Germany, Belgium, France, and Spain for the rest of the month.

It would be nice to meet up with some people or just find out about some good places to shoot (the types of things I like to shoot)

Also my Olympus XA needs new light seals, and I don't have time to replace them myself. So does anyone know of any places in the Italian cities I mentioned that can do a quick job in a day or so for a good price? The earlier I get that done the better.

Hello Ben,

Replacing the light seals on the XA is a, at the utter most, 10 minute job. A little spirit and some buds to clean off the old gunk and then slapping the new one on. So it won't be time you won't have enough of, but rather, being bothered :)

I want to head out in London one Sunday this or next weekend, to limber up for the EuroMeet - let me know if you're interested.

cheers,
kully

Hey kully,
I can't make it to London either Sundays. This weekend I will be working on a couple of essays I have due this coming week, and next Sunday I will be on my way to Rome. Maybe another time. I will have a whole month free after May 18th, and I plan on spending some time in london to go see a few gigs at least.

And it is definitely the bother, not the time, stopping me from replacing the seals on my XA. Do you have any suggestions on where to get foam seals in the UK (preferably with solvent and all I need as most of my stuff is back home)?

Thanks

A week to go and with the four day Easter weekend, it seems even closer.

A bump in case anyone else is interested in coming along and hasn't seen the thread yet.

Seems like it's going to be a 6x6 meet too - I'm bringing my Rollei.

I have about 70 rolls of Provia400X (120) dated 09/10 if anyone wants to buy / help me afford more wine. I'll take 1.50 Euros per roll. Let me know before as I won't be bringing them all.

Simon, the Neopan was back-ordered so I won't be bringing any of that. However I would be eternally grateful if I could borrow your 35/1.2 at the meet - mine is off being looked at. You can borrow my ZM 50/1.5..... ?
