RFF is an oasis

I want to thank Pherdinand and Roger Hicks for their excellent post in response to my question re Leaf shutters.

By the By---I have Roger Hicks and Frances Schultz's excellent book on Rangefiners, and if anyone does not have it, it is really worthwhile and reasonably priced. Also check out his book Hollywood Portraits with Christopher Nisperos. It is a real learning experience to see the pictures and read the analysis of the lighting by the authors.

Thanks again. WNG in NC

I better add that I don't know Roger at all, but have visited his website. Hope I have not broken a rule. I would hate to disturb the flow of this wonderful forum. WNG

Ooops, themirana... we're going to get the RFF police on you. Bad boy posting shots NOT done with a rangefinder! Terrible example! 😱

Soon enough, you'll be banned... Tsk, tsk, tsk...

Just kidding!! 😀

Thanks for the story, and don't worry if you didn't shoot the photo with a rangefinder. It's the image that counts.

BTW, I can also recommend the RF book by Roger and his wife Frances. It's a delightful read for anyone who likes these cameras. Any chance of a second edition, Roger?

Rockford: thank'ee kindly

Francisco: thank'ee kindly too, but I fear that the likelihood of a second edition is slender. The publisher is more equipment/technique oriented, and the book was too equipment-oriented for them. I could see if they'll do a discount for RFF members -- would that be permitted, O great an noble moderators?

Cheers,

Roger

Ey that's great ! I'd be signing up if I hadn't one already 😀 There's also a book from you and Frances, mostly about black & white photography and oriented to optimizing the whole process, from picture taking and exposure to development, film and paper choice that I'm getting soon from the uni bookstore.
