Here, in this thread, I suggest every RFF member to sign their M-camera serial numbers.
The Idea of this belongs to Pirate:
So, post your cameras photos and their serial numbers (one camera - one number). Beside the number write your nickname and from what country are you.
I, or moderators will edit this first post, to have all numbers in one BIG list...
So, mine a la carte Leica MP #3008243 (picture attached).
Example:
"M3 #1234567 (here you can write some special issues about your camera), nickname (here you can write your real name and Family name), (here you can write town), Country"
Things painted RED are necessary.
Information without photographs of a camera with serial number, will be DARK GREY in the list, so please add some photos
Thinking about privacy policy:
(according to the page №5 of this thread, post #106, also you might want to read post #170 on the 7th page)
If you want to be anonymous - without regarding of a person, or country, but with cameras SN and a picture that you will send me PM. So, there will be a camera of anonym, with SN, and a story of modifing it, or other interesting things or storys about your exact camera?..

Um, maybe we should talk about this first. I personally don't have a problem with it, and it would be good to actually post it because then it's showing publicly that I have it, own it, etc. However, I know a lot of people don't want to give out their entire serial number. How about if we hear from them first as to why we shouldn't post them, then maybe we can find a way to do this that will make everyone happy. Just a thought.

Why? Just wondering.

As I stated in my original post that Nugard is referring to, I thought it would be cool to see who has consecutive numbers - such as... Tom has #1234, Bob has #1235, type of thing. Also, with all the buying/selling/trading going on here, it would be neat to see where some of your old gear is now. Maybe you'd like to find it and see about buying it back, or talk to someone who owns it now.
Mostly, the consecutive serial number thing is what sparked my interest in this, but it would also help to have a data base of the numbers for record. That was my thinking on it anyway.

Well, I guess, there are men, who might think that their cameras were stollen, or loosen...
Why? Just wondering.
Frank, that's a good question, thought...
I think it's kind of idea, that somebody in Australia (for example) might have a nearest to mine serial number, and maybe some day we will meet and take a shot of our two cameras standing side by side...
Also, this could be like a storyholder of some Leica cameras, cause lot of RFF members are selling cameras to other members, so this could be like a hole story of one exact camera, in one thread...

Something else to think about -- if we are going to do this, what is the best way? Something that everyone can see, like in the "RFF Polls" thread, maybe something at the top of the page?
Just listing the numbers in each post would be too hard to see them and find consecutive numbers and such.

As i said... I (or a moderator, if i will be away) will edit my first post, so that every serial number will be there...

1968 M4 #1212083
1955 M3 #778432
Ya know, we could even do this for lenses

I don't know about showing some pictures of cameras... It might , make more interest to this thread and make it more pleasing to look at...

Pirate - That made me laugh. Thanks, I've been on a photo-vacation for the past few days and I'm bummed about going back to a job that I really hate - tomorrow. Laughing always helps.

Erik van Straten, are you from Holland?.. Did I catch that right?..
Sweet cameras you've got there...
Same goes to you Jeromie... BTW, is that a real black paint, factory made, not yourself?..
Also, fellows, please write your serial nimbers, so that I could copy it (less work for me, and also less posibility that I will make a mistake).
