Not to go too far off-topic on this thread, but like Bill I found myself hunting a bit for membership information. In my case, I wanted to find a page that would tell me my membership status. That may sound silly, but I'd thought I'd sent a payment for membership some time ago, and since I was a "member" I thought the little ad suggesting I become a "premium member" was suggesting a second level of paid membership. Then I saw the page explaining that a mailbox (PM) limit of 100 messages is a benefit of premium membership and I realized that I was at the free-member level. I searched my PayPal logs and saw nothing to RFF or Jorge, so I signed up (as I should have long ago) for a paid membership. (I think I probably had a "senior moment" concerning my "payment.")
I'm only mentioning this because it might help stir up a few memberships. In general, the interface to the RFF is very good indeed, and the software that runs it is excellent. The page describing the benefits of membership is very clear. I think there were two points at which I hunted for something I couldn't find, though. (1) Even on my "control panel" page I didn't see a clear indication of my membership status or last payment (or that I'd never made one). I had to deduce my status from my Personal Message mailbox limit. (2) I didn't know quite where to ask about this. I had been on the forum for a couple of months before I inferred, from some threads and his signature, that Jorge was the "big cheese." I figured I could PM him if I was completely stumped but I figured he must get flooded with that sort of thing. And among the discussion groups I saw this one, "Rangefinder general discussion," but I didn't notice one on administrative questions.
Neither of these is a show-stopper of a problem, or anything like it. But I wonder if a sort of "administration tutorial" or an administrative forum with a sticky thread with some signposts would be of use to new members?
