RFF Street Photos Revisited (NikonHSWebmaster)

This was my first gallery post on RFF in 2011. M4, 50/2 ZM, SFO.

Not sure if these photos qualify as extraordinary, but they do all have an element in them I didn't expect when lining up the shot.

I knew I had three N's in the frame, but don't consciously remember seeing the fourth one until I scanned the slide.

It was a nice touch for the kid at the back to be airborne and his left hand in the air exactly when I fired the shutter.

Of course I intended just to take a photo of a pretty girl on the street, but the guy walking into my frame sure added a nice extra element :D

Here are a few of my extra ordinary pics ;)

All from a project which I'm still trying to tie together and finish as its not easy getting the access. Anyway, hopefully a street vibe across one subject. Enjoy or don't.

University Porters giving and receiving instructions during a graduation event.

Porters preparing the Senate House for the Graduates

University staff outside the Senate House

Coming from the Backs

Two porters welcome parents and dignitaries during graduation

University porter discusses John Harrison and other Cambridge alumni (my avatar and the shot that probably got me thinking about the project)

Provision against the British climate is another duty of the Porters

The final product, after graduation

My apologies for being a thread hog.

also extremely funny to see how high some folks' self esteem is :D

Ha, indeed. Not to call any of these pics un-extraordinary, but I was a bit surprised that nearly every photo here was taken by the poster. I thought this would wind up as a thread of other photographer's work that we feel really admire. Maybe that's just my commonwealth diffidence talking.

Simon, wonderful work. This to my epitomises continuity. You may say that is obvious by looking, but whilst doing the work it would have been so easy to 'expand/go astray' from the picture (no pun intended)

And being English, I wouldn't ask a chap how many crap shots and 'floor coverings' (if indeed it is all film) there were to get to the above :)
