i'm not sure that's a question rich can answer.
last report indicated that we are waiting for a few more contributions from a couple of participants.
rich has organized this and held it together very well but i think it's a waiting game now.
not to say that i'm not anxious cause i am. this is a very cool project.
but all good things come those...

If we still have a list of alternates, why not give them a shot to make the book? Put in a cutoff date, and allow the alternates to submit some images and descriptions for consideration. If the primary participants don't submit by that date, take any of the alternates that are ready to go and drop the primary person.
If we are short of alternates, have those that already submitted their two photos pick out an extra image or two and submit those. First come first served, and use them to fill the extra pages. I'm sure those that already submitted could scratch up another image if need be. Does it have to be 25 photographers? Why not 21 filling the same number of pages if we have to in order to keep the project on track?
We shouldn't let those that can't submit by the dealines slow the project down for everyone else. It would be nice to have this available for christmas presents for those so inclined.

Maybe Richard can have a heart-to-heart with the outstanding photographers (pun) to see if they can get it together in, say, 7 more days. If they can't because of other priorities, (and that's perfectly understandable. No one would bear them any ill feelings,) then I agree with going to the back-ups or with additonal prints from the 21 who have already submitted 2. Let's get going. I'm hoping to give out books for Christmas gifts.

I agree, no hostile feellings, but that's the reason why of having backups, if it dosen't work then additional photos is fine...

I certainly agree with the sentiment that it would be nice to have the book in time for the Holidays...
