The Ricoh 300 was my first 'real' camera some 40 years ago before I went onto OM's and more recently an RZ67. I was thinking it would be fun to run a film or two through it, however the shutter doesn't appear to be working. It winds on OK but nothing happens when the shutter release is pressed. Is it worth getting fixed or should I look for a second hand Canon RF or similar?

this could lead to post "mint looking Canonet GIII QL17 has sticky shutter".
I believe those 40y.o. (on average) cameras need some work before being used again, regardless of who manufactured it.

So my advice is obvious - either DIY or send it for CLA. And have fun using it!
