since all those cameras share lens -lets make a big thread dedicated to it...
Awesome little camera. Unfortunately mine just died on me. Might have to look for another one, though.
what happened? film transport? i just found one ff700 for 15 eur so i took it to have as a backup... but other Ricohs like tf500 and ff9 are pretty good as well... it seems i became obsessed with Ricoh 80s and 90s...
BTW if your cam is dead and you wont try to fix it-can you disassemble lens and try to find out what kind of layout it has? i try to find what is that 5/5 lens but still no luck...
The electronics became a bit temperamental: the camera would randomly "reset" and load the film mid-role. The battery contacts were all clean, so I just gave up.
Unfortunately I can't open it up: I gave to a friend who doesn't mind the issues.
nzeeman, very nice photos. That last batch is not quite up to the previous standard, if you don't mind my saying so.
However, the last pic could be saved I think if the foreground were cropped out to make it a 16x9 aspect ratio.
I never knew of this camera until now, and I sold Ricohs in the 90s. (we had the FF-8WR only, for Ricoh point & shoots) I wonder why it was not popular in the USA?
Well, this is a niche product in a niche market in a niche sub-forum, so we can't expect much!hey thanks for your comments! i agree-but also this shouldn't be my thread-its just dedicated to that ricoh line but not many people join..
🙁 i mainly got camera so i can shoot easier when i got baby so rf camera was impossible to use with baby in arms. none of it is really special - i just shoot random stuff when i have time - so i think those photos say more about the quality of camera than about my skills haha
