Thanks for your response Nighstar,
I think I get what you are saying. I'm still learning the camera, still having fun.
Cheers,
db

The other day I bought a 2nd hand GRD2. After establishing that there were some issues with the focus, I traded it back for a GRD, which the seller also had, and boy am I glad that I did.
The GRD2 images that were sharp looked fine, but the NR was pretty heavy-handed. But the GRD is absolutely amazing. I never would have thought that I'd be shooting ISO 800 jpegs on a small sensor camera – I had the GX100, where I found ISO 200 to more or less be the acceptable maximum.
Good stuff indeed.
ISO 800, f/2.4, 1/30, straight jpeg

anyone have a hi-res raw file I can play with from the GRDiv? I am thinking about selling a camera to fund one of these.

kz, anything lighting situation, or ISO you're looking for in particular?

I was hoping for one outdoors with a low ISO and maybe an indoor shot at hi-ISO. Maybe one wide-open? Subjects are unimportant, i just want to see how much information the sensor captures. I have no idea what these cameras are capable of reproducing without playing around with one or havig a few raw files.

That's an embarrassing typo up there! Kevin, so I sent you one file, but then decided it'd be more helpful to upload the DNGs onto SkyDrive in case anyone else would like to play with 'em.

For the keyboard macros, the focus was on the N key. And for the shots with the books, I focused on Bradbury.
ISO 80 outdoors shot to come tomorrow!
