Here are a few in low light/at night. There's no excuse to forget my GRD on any walk at any time of day, or at any occasion. For the first two I set the camera on the gravel and exposed for 1"-2.5" at f9 ISO 800. The dark portrait of my dying mother was ISO 64 wide open for 1/60; the other 2 were ISO1600 wide open for 1/70.





Two more elegiac photos--my mother a few days before her death, and John Lennon on his birthday at St Vincent de Paul.

Wondering if the Lightroom version of the Streetshooter presents are as good as the SilverEfx version. Would love to have everything within Lightroom. The round trip to Silverefx is a drag and you end up with too many versions.

I just got a GRD3 today and I absolutely love it. I bought it to replace my Fuji X100... the thing was too bulky and too slow. It's autofocus was clunky and inaccurate, the menu was a pain to get through, and I hated the plastic look of the files. The GRD3 has pretty much satisfied all my desires in a digital point and shoot, simple and quick operation with full control, light and compact, files with character! I'm wondering if I should pick up a cheap knock off 28mm finder from Hong Kong 😛

That´s exactly what I feel about my GRD III. I still like my Lumix G1 with manual lenses, but the GRD is overall better for me!
Can you tell me a source for a cheap 28mm finder?

Zeno & Patrick, there's an Israeli on eBay who makes vf in 21, 24, 28 for $30US. He's aware of their usefulness for GRD & gxr. I have the 21 for my WA GRD lens. It works. Ain't stellar, but functional. On ebay search for vf by lowest price. Or keep going to yard sales with dogged hope....

Actually I´m using the finder of a broken Lomo LC-A, glued to the hot shoe cover of the GRD. Tomorrow I will visit a local foto fair and hope to get something better.

Rob, how does the israeli viewfinder perform? Is it useful at all? I guess my main concern is whether or not you can see if something's in focus...

Patrick, it never occurs to me to want a VF in the 21-28 range to assist with focus. It's there to quickly confirm at eye-level what I want in my FOV--and only for scenes where I can be deliberate in framing. I don't have the Ricoh GRD-specific VF, and don't even know whether it couples, or whether what you're suggesting exists! (Though if it does, it won't be cheap.)

I do depend on the coupled, focus-peaking EVF on the GXR for the M mount; I use that Ricoh when I want to eyeball subjects precisely shooting wide open with a fast lens. But while the GRD is capable of thoughtful framing--Zeno is a paragon in this, and I used it that way for a long-term project titled Shelf Lives (one of the galleries on my website) --its core of genius is Snap mode, being a preeminent hip/chest shooter as Don Springer deploys it and as Daido M did with the GR.

Sorry, getting proselytic here. Though I have preachers in my family background as an excuse, I know you all are part of the GRD choir, and mostly I'm thankful to be part of your visible music here. Patrick, if you find a coupled VF that's inexpensive, please don't keep it to yourself!
