As we say in western Oregon: We get a lot of precipitation, but no one has to shovel rain. (I've served my snow-time in New England, the Colorado Rockies, and central Pennsylvania. Out here I see snow when I want to ski in the Cascades.)
Robert, in our part of Bavaria we used to say: Nine months of winter, the rest of the year is cold. Today it is more a mix of rain and snow, all muddy and dirty.
