Flickr shows it was shot at ISO 12,800 - that is a high ISO! I know from my GR that the shot just wouldn't stand to scrutiny if it were colour, but this camera has a way of putting out marvelous high-ISO JPGs.

I know! 12,800ISO is just insane, but as B&W pictures, the files just work.

Cool Robert...how was the Lecture ?

I much prefer the Old grd's to the new larger sensor of the GR....just a matter if Taste & Eye 😉

Sam Abell talked essentially about:

--His photography-teacher father's 2 part lesson about photography (1/compose the shot 2/wait for something to happen in that frame)

--The horizon line being of lifelong importance (though what he calls horizon lines most of us call horizontal lines; for him I suppose each strong horizontal constitutes the horizon of a layer)

--shooting back to front, and seeing or creating layers.

Abundantly illustrated with slides showing steps missteps drafts finals. I was happy to listen while trying to shoot my own very quiet little grd4 shots in the dark....
