Today I forgot to bring spares of my normal Sandisk SD cards.
I did have some panasonic gold 8GB cards that I normally use in my M9.
However the panasonic cards do not work properly in the Ricoh GR (V); the camera frequently won't turn off - leaving 'RICOH' on the screen.
The lens retracts , but the battery needs to be pulled before the camera works again.
Anyone else suffered from the same?

That sounds weird. I wonder if the Leica left something on the sd card that the Ricoh did not like. Have u tried formatting the card in a camera other than the Leica to c if this will remove whatever is causing the problem? Basically all cards are formatted w/ FAT file system.. It kind of sounds like the GR got hung up while reading what was on the sd card.

It might be that Gary, the ricoh won't even format the card ; it hangs saying 'fomatting ... ' I had to pull the battery after 5 minutes of no change

Very weird. I'd try formatting the card in a computer to get rid of anything on it, and then in the GR.
