I'm new to the Ricoh GR1s gang, and I would like to know: in order to achieve hyperfocal distancing focus in the SNAP mode, should you also set the aperture manually? Is it necessary, since the SNAP mode is made for just that purpose (2m - to infinity)? I am asking because I got some shots with SNAP that are really not sharp, on a bright sunny summer day (like, two days ago).
Cheers.

Yes hyperfocal distance depends on aperture, but there's different snap modes too. On my GR1v there's prefocused snap at 1, 2, 3 and 5m (I think) which don't depend on aperture and might explain out of focus pictures, and then there's hyperfocal snap which does depend on aperture. Of course on a 28mm anything beyond f/5.6 or f/8 is just fine I find
