True...Also, Ricoh have said as part of the release that the GRIV has phase and contrast detect AF on the sensor, so it is definitely not the sensor from the K-3 iii.

Photo resolution is suspiciously similar to K3iii. Fingers crossed for a PDAF version of that sensor that can come in mono as well.
Yep. $1500 in the USA.Now available for pre-order?

Is there some evidence or a definitive statement about the sensor? Can you post a link/links? That YouTube video says the sensor from the K-3 iii or the Sony a6700. They are not the same sensor. In Europe the latest GR III model (GRIIIx HDF) is ~1250€. GR IV is 1350€. I find the slight price increase just fine.
I am really hoping for a monochrome version now that we know it's using the K-3 III sensor. But even the RGB GRIVx would be nice as they added grain to color profiles as well!
I have the feeling that I am going to end up with a collection of these 😛
Hilariously despite the $120 price tag, it does not come with TTL. Supposedly it works in the "flashmatic" way, that the flash always fires at full power, whilst the camera adjusts the ISO (and maybe aperture) to accommodate the exposure.I see they do a little flash gun for it.
