I've purchased myself a Kipon adapter from Nikon-F to Leica-M and use that to mount a Nikkor-S 1.4/58mm to my M-Mount unit! Gets me a perfect 85mm 1.4 lens, manually focused and low contrast!

Is it (a bit) bulky? Yes! Can it be shot hand-held? Sure, no doubt!😎 Oh, and I have a 2.5/105mm pre-AI Nikkor-P for it too, as well as two Tamron Adaptall zoom lenses, a 24-48mm and a 35-80mm🙂

The GXR-M does well with almost any quality lens you fit to it. But as a camera, I tend to like it most with fairly compact lenses. My favorites on it are the Color Skopar 21/4 and 28/3.5, the Nokton 40/1.4, and the M-Rokkor 90/4.

I use the Nikkors mostly for macro and close up work (55/3.5 and 105/2.8). I thought I'd used the 200 a bit too, but it's just a bit longer than I find myself needing or using most of the time. I've got the 2x teleconverter for it too ... both are sold to my friend who has a use for them. 🙂

Someone on the thread mentioned about if in Europe they would purchase. Well Clifton Cameras in UK are doing some cracking deals on the GXR system but not the M mount module sadly. Bought a nice GXR P10 kit myself more a mere £199. 🙂

I managed to get it through finally. But my cart kept resetting itself. Till now, I can't seem to find a way to ship the GXR body alone because once I get to checkout, it stops being in the cart.

Have you tried changing browsers? This sounds very strange, it was a breeze for me on my Mac running Chrome.
 
Wow, a Canadian deal for once. I noticed that the GXR was released back in 2010: how does it stack up to the latest 4/3rds cameras of today?

Is the excitement for this deal primarily for the M-mount A12 module?

Once I adopted the GXR/M, I used my Lumix G1/20 1.7 (which I had loved since 2010) much much less. I've only handled an OMD, so cannot speak to that more recent m43 comparison. m43 is quite viable, and there are tons of adaptors, so a lot of this will be about taste, ergs, preferred focal lengths, etc.

Rainer's sensible set-up--detailed in his signature--is a really really good way to use this camera/module. And no one is selling an OMD or GH3 for anything close to what this $125 body and $275 module will give you. Even if you spend full price on the GXR EVF, you're still way under those budgets.
 
I did a bit of reading up and came to the conclusion that the GXR platform is either dead or nearing end of life. That being said, it's also the cheapest entry point for a digital M mount camera and one of the cheapest ways to get an APS-C sensor in a point and shoot. Image quality is acceptable, but my 60D is better I think, if only just. I do a lot of low light shooting, not a GXR strong suit.

I do not own any M-mount glass, merely a couple of Russian LTM 50mm pieces. I have some FD glass, but I don't know how usable they'd be on the GXR with an adapter.

The GAS hurts bad, but I really don't know if this is the cam for me. I guess I'll sleep on it.

the GXR-M has a fantasticly set up sensor, basically no AA-Filter, super sharp output, like only D800E, Olympus E-5 or M9/M8 cameras. also if you use some good f1.4 glass, the GXR it's well a low light monster, high iso is better than on an M9, let alone an M8.

imo the GXR-M is a dream come true for legacy lenses, and extremely high quality imaging tool, for almost free nowdays

Have a look at my Flickr, the Ricoh is consistantly delivering this quality, it's not simply a lucky shot. Guess you did your research in the wrong places...
 
what the f... it's still the old price here .. damn
250 for the body, over 500 for the module .. euros that is (so almost US$1000)
