Ricoh GXR Clearout?

excited to get back in the A12 M mount camp, i suppose about end of next week i will get it,
the A12 module will enable a nice digiback for all my legacy lenses. For the 1.5 crop, superwide is not so easy to achieve, i was just thinking of adding the 28mm 2.5 module maybe (henrys got it at 274$ too...) omg this could blow away my gas for the new coolpix A,

697$ buys you a GXR grip, an super versatile M-mount A12, and an A12 GXR 28 2.5 module for AF wide angle work as big sensor GRD substitute

anyone here bought or has the 28mm module? how does IQ stack up?

For me, I decided to go with the smaller sensor S10 module to cover the wider range. I hope it's at least a half decent walkabout lens.

You ever feel like you're being controlled by some sort of sick puppet master? Why just a few weeks ago I was thinking how the GXR and M-mount module could fulfill all of my photographic needs. It could be the one camera if I would have to go digital. Then along comes this thread. Great, good thing I dont have any money to spare. Then for tax reasons my grandma decides to give me a lump of dough. Well shoot, the shipping and import taxes will negate any sort of discount. Whaddaya know, my buddy from my high school days in Dearborn is coming over to visit this summer.

Somebody stop me!

Does 28mm module have a APS-C sensor? Or smaller?
I have ordered a body and M module. If the 28mm has a APS-C sensor I do not mind having one as well.

ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH. you *******s.

i just lost $287 on an A12 M-Mount kit. I already had a GXR with a 28mm fixed lens.....but i suppose i needed the A12 M Mount kit....so thank you :)

gas. gas. gas.

Less dynamic range at higher ISO than the A12s or A16, and a zoom aperture range. Likely better than the tiny-sensor P10 (which I got for $20 in my first GXR kit, no regrets). If you use the smaller-sensor modules in sensible ranges, they're great for walkabout/travel.

But if you have LTM or M lenses, the M mount is a great investment for the original price, not to mention the Henry's close-out.

It's an APS-c I do believe.

yes definitely aps-c sensor on that 28 2.5 module, seems like it's very low noise and sharp too, a friend of mine has it an loves it. apparently the 50 macro is even sharper, but I'm more interested in the wider fl s for AF

I have the 28mm F2.5 too and it is a wonderful setup....however I just couldn't pass up on the M-mount for a $250....a HELL of a deal.

agree probably the best bargain in the whole digital photographic universe right now... besides being a bargain also a very powerful imaging tool.

My haul was a back, A12M, and the S10 kit giving me a spare back.

I figure the S10 unit might compare favorably to my RX100 in my gear reduction quest.

I am getting my head around the A12M. I am struggling a bit still with the focus assist as I am used to the Nex implementation.

I was happy with my first walkaround experience with the GXR and Collapsible Cron. Lots of zone focusing required but in all cases the files looked nice. I look forward to getting to know the combo better.

Gas got the better of me as well :(.

The a16 24-85 zoom originally came out around 700-800. Then dropped to 495. At the under 300 sales price, this was way too hard for me to resist.

Right now not sure if I should buy a second body as a backup. It is really looking more and more like Ricoh is abandoning the gxr line and putting more of its investment dollars into Pentax. I hope it does not happen since I really want to c an a16 m module.

Same battery as the x100 :D

Same battery as the x100 :D

Btw

The battery for the gxr is the same one as the Fuji x100..

Johan, were you able to use the 21 SA on the Ricoh? Do you know if the 50 DR Summicron works as well?

Randy

The 50 DR Summicron works very well with the GXR and M Mount. The "goggles" of course do not add anything to the mix but do look very sci-fi.
