Ridiculous M9 tethering question

I have a ridiculous question for a ridiculous situation.

I am doing a studio shoot. I usually do this with a Canon 5d mk2 tethered to Capture One Pro, the reason to be able to see the images on my computer screen moments after taking them.

Well, here comes the ridiculous situation.

I am doing a photo shoot and the client has insisted that it be done with a Leica M9. Fine, whatever, I have been supplied with an M9, and being familiar with the M8 this is no problem.

But.....its a studio shoot, not the territory of a rangefinder camera obviously.

Can I shoot the M9 tethered? Capture One 6.3 does not seem to recognize it. Is there any program that will shoot the M9 tethered?

The only other way I can think is to use the usb connector on the camera to download the images manually while its on the tripod, but that would be very time consuming.

Aperture 3 will allow you to shoot a tethered M9, although there is about a 5-second lag to preview.

There is no tethering option for the M9. Just shoot it then download the images from the card (much faster than using the cord.) The USB port is so slow it is probably incapable of tethering.

I am using windows 7 so no hope of Aperture on here. Also shooting and pulling the card out is not possible as the camera has to sit on a tripod for static subjects. I will just try to deal with the usb cable.

If the instant viewing on computer screen is the main objective, not controlling the camera from computer, you could try Eye-Fi card. Photos will show up on computer or even iPad as you shoot. Assuming you'll be shooting DNG, you can shoot with smaller jpeg for quick upload ("pro" eye-fi card can transfer raw files but not really necessary for this) and you can transfer the DNGs later with physical connection.

I've done some client shootings with this setup in the past. But minds you M9/8 can't handling writing too fast so if you need to buffer up a lot with Eye-Fi, that might stress out the camera too much.

I think Leica recommend against using a wifi card with the M9, as the slightly-thicker card may bind in the slot.

No- EyeFi advises against using the card in an M8/M9.

However, if you want to shoot tethered with Aperture3, and I suppose with any other program, the camera must be set to PTP.

Since Avotius is using M9 so that's a valid concern (sorry I didn't check M9 before posting the suggestion) but just for the record if someone searches this thread for M8 use, Eye-Fi page suggests no physical problem with M8. Metal plate limits the transferring distance though. I've used X2 cards in M8.2 with no physical resistance or problem.

But again, the OP is looking for solution for M9 so please disregard my suggestion...

I used the M9 tether program thing today. It worked perfectly and it was free.

Had it automatically download photos to a folder which I was viewing in capture one. Just like tethered shooting in capture one except an extra step to click capture in another program.

This guy was the client. I do most of his photos. You may have seen his massive stainless steel Leica, which I also did the photos for.
