Yes, I use the Nikon software - tried both Silverfast and Vuescan, didn't care for them. The best advice I ever received was to to scan b&w as a color negative, which I do and convert to grey scale after levels and curves adjustments in PS. I do no usm sharpening as I feel it does weird things to grain especially when downsizing for the web.
