I am quite impressed by my [ugly but sharp] I-50 lens. It is a 50mm/3.5 lens in LTM that I got with a Zorki 5 or 6. It is sharp and reasonably contrasty for my needs.

Here are some shots of my little daughter, Lina:

Nice pics Raid ... your daughters are so natural in front of a camera. They must be very accustomed to you photographing them as I am so used to seeing the delightful pics you frequently post of them. 🙂

Hi Keith,

Thanks.

Both of my daughters are very used to having me have several cameras and lenses with me ecah time we leave our home together, and they have pretty much accepted the fact that they will be photographed by me nearly each day. I enjoy such a "documentation" process, while it is not too exiting or interesting to others. I still enjoy taking photos of life around me but not of my family, but it has become of secondary importance to me.

Cheers,

Raid

Nice stuff Raid, I am a big fan of the i-50/22 I just picked up a fantastic $18 fed-50/3.5 pretty much the same look, GREAT.

Hi,

Thank you.
This lens is an excellent lens, regardless of its low price. I did not have to reshim it or adjust it in any way.

Cheers,

Raid

Lina is gorgeous.

Misok,

Thank you very much. My wife will be very happy to hear this. Dana is so beautiful that we first thought that Lina will be jealous of her. Now, Lina has grown into a little cutie herself.

The lens loves Lina and Lina certainly loves daddy talking her picture. Enjoy it while you may, soon enough they turn sullen when you dragoon them into modeling.

You certainly have the right idea about preserving this record of their childhood - fifteen years from now you (and they) will really enjoy remembering and the day will come when your grandchildren will want to see them.

A few days ago I shot some color film using a prototype Fed-2 and its original Fed-10 (aka the Fed 50/3.5) lens - the results were spectacular; I thought those 50/3.5 lenses didn't get great until the I-50 came along but they are all winners. If I get a chance I'll post a shot.

Hi Michael,

Lina used to be very much against having her photos taken, but since recently she has been happy about it.

I always had the interest in documenting things on film, and with children, it is even more useful to do this.

The 50/3.5 lenses are not dfficult to design, and accordingly, they are sharp. This is my amateurish view on it.

Greetings,

Raid

Hello Raid,
Beautiful pictures of your beautiful little girl, you and your wife are blessed.

I had a rigid I50 for a while, but gave it away with a Fed4 for someone to try out FSU gear---Looking at your pictures I may have been too hasty.

Brian.

Hello Brian,

Thank you. Yes, I feel that we have been blessed.
The FSU lenses are not expensive to get back, except some wide angle lenses and the J-3 that seems to go up in price [there is a thread on it].
The I-50 is a little talked about lens, but it is an excellent performer.
Many have it as a collapsible lens.

Hi Noel,
I have taken some nice ones of the G/Daughters recently, but between you and I,they were all taken with a digital p/shoot.The camera does all the work for me,and the results show it😱

Unlike Raid,I have to try a little harder with my technique.

Nil Desperandum,I will get there--- and it will be with the Agfa 400 I hope!!

Here is a Fed - 10 (that is the official designation of the Fed 50'3.5 collapsible) taken last week with an early pre-series Fed-2 (square RF windows) and its original lens.

Brian,

The lens performs very well in this photo. The details show clearly in the face and the OOF areas look nice too.
