Hey all,
I have some sad news. RFF member Colton Allen's wife posted to his Instagram (@daiku_san) that Colton passed away in hospice on Friday. As you may know he took up photography shortly after being diagnosed with ALS and produced a lovely body of work with a variety of cameras in the vein of the New American Colorists from the point of view of his power chair. I don't remember if I ever interacted with him but he always struck me as a really nice guy with abundant enthusiasm for old film cameras and trying out color films.

I was just wondering about how Colton was doing the other day. I am sorry he is gone but relieved for him that he is no longer suffering.

I was just thinking of him the other day - sad to hear of his passing. Funny but any time I used my Bronica S2 I thought of him.

A very great loss of one of RFF's most talented members. He left a legacy of superb work for all to appreciate and enjoy.

RIP. He was one of the few modern film photographers who are good.

I remember Colton, he was a very nice guy and he was an incredibly talented photographer. He hadn't been doing photography for very long. You don't often see the level of work that he did from someone with so little experience; imagine what he could have done if he'd had more time.
