Hey all,

I have some sad news. RFF member Colton Allen's wife posted to his Instagram (@daiku_san) that Colton passed away in hospice on Friday. As you may know he took up photography shortly after being diagnosed with ALS and produced a lovely body of work with a variety of cameras in the vein of the New American Colorists from the point of view of his power chair. I don't remember if I ever interacted with him but he always struck me as a really nice guy with abundant enthusiasm for old film cameras and trying out color films.

RIP Colton Allen.

I recently purchased one of his cameras on another photo forum.
I will think of him whenever I use it.

Chris

Yes, sad indeed...I loved his work...RIP...be free from a mortal body that tried to hold you down...

I remember Colton, he was a very nice guy and he was an incredibly talented photographer. He hadn't been doing photography for very long. You don't often see the level of work that he did from someone with so little experience; imagine what he could have done if he'd had more time. :(
