Surprising no one else has commented on this. I just heard it last night on my way home. There was much contraversy over his wife's reports of spousal abuse, but he and they did put out some good music. One thing I didn't know but heard on the radio last night was that he was credited with putting out the first rock and roll song in 1951.
If you read the various music groups on Usenet and the web, you will find countless tunes attributed as the "first R&R" depending on who you ask and who they happen to like. 🙂 Some go well back into the 1940s.

Sell those papers! That's in such bad taste... I mean, the man's met his maker, and had to answer for himself... so why speak ill of the dead? Ike knew what he did, as did the people who witnessed it... firsthand or otherwise. The media truly disgusts me some days.
