Paul, it's on or near the road; it's certainly dead; the image was shot tonight in NYC, but I have sneaking suspicion that this doesn't qualify in our game of "can you top this?" best I got right now.

Well this is not quite a road, it's a walkway on an island where no cars are allowed, still it is dead and soon likely to be a meal.

Good ones, guys: a dead-bed, a dead mouse and a scavenging gull of some kind.

If that were a mouse it would have been gone already, more like a small rat that a cat hadn't got yet.

Definitely a skunk.
Now this, this patently is not a bat, nor a skunk. I give you the Southeastern and Southwestern champion roadkill species of all time:

I have waited months to load that pic; had to replace the scanner. That is a fine specimen, right? Almost like it was modeling instead of, well, lying there dead ...

argh! my first two shots on this roll got fogged. not sure what silly thing I did to make that happen.

Another dead glove and what? A big bird? Can't make it out.
This would have been a good pic withut the dead stuff. Nice wedges and a triangle ...

some kind of a seagull. the gloves are ubiquitous. I don't find them; they find me.

You could a series on roadside gloves. Truly a strange phenomenon ...

That is an interesting take, lacavol.
