road kill . . . post yours

This isn't usually my thing, but I happened upon this scene last night:

no amount of washing, even with photoflo, seems to make my CMS 20 negs come out with spotting or stains. the frames that come out without either, suffer from dust and scratches. my last roll of this stuff is in the camera and I think it will be replaced by some new emulsion.

I don't actually seek this stuff out. I do find it to be rather creepy. but given that I have been doing all my bicycling for the past six months while toting a camera with me, I seem to pay more attention to items left on the side of the road than I ever did before. perhaps it's the looking sense that someday I'll be cast off to the side of the proverbial road, too.

does this, finally, take things too far?

this vehicle seen in the parking lot of a fire station that happens to regularly host a monthly camera show ("Second Sunday" in Wayne, NJ).

in Ingmar Bergman's film Persona, the action of one of the characters overwhelms Bergman's willingness to let it be in the picture, as if to say, "this is too much." at this point, the "film" gets stuck in the gate of the projector and "melts" (not really, but via special effects). is this that same type of moment?

anyone out there who's a film fan who hasn't seen this picture should. from a cinematic standpoint, it is one of Bergman's best. for a fellow who loved the stage, here he showed his affinity for the camera.

Paul, if you only see one Bergman film, it would have to be The Seventh Seal. If his stuff generally leaves you cold, Persona will probably freeze you totally. If you want to see one that won't leave you cold, that would be Wild Strawberries or Smiles of Summer Night. Lots of heavy religious stuff going on it 7th Seal and Through a Glass Darkly (both titles, as you'd know far better than I, directly lifted from Bible passages).

Rob, I'm not a Bergman fan; his films generally leave me cold. Persona, though, I think I'd like to see on your recommendation ...

Waiting to see if Paulfish notices that I've finally progressed from gloves to shoes.

I have a few 'kill shots' sitting on my computer. still not sure if I should post them up or not. it's not really my style, they just sit in my "against my better judgement" set...

I'll give myself a day to think about it. a few are a bit bloody.
