Rodinal Newbie-- TriX 400 advice????

Hi Vic,

Stand can help, but just a bit: it will help to make highlights less pronounced on sunny scenes... But that's precisely what you don't want for the flat scenes in the same roll, because you need to get more contrast for those...

Cheers,

Juan

This is a good reason to shot only 120. At least then you only have 12 images to worry about. You can at least finish a roll before you enter the unknown. Also, some people that do extreme testing, which I don't do, because I'm too lazy and to old to change, that say that minimum agitation will give you every bit the same results as stand without the accompanying problems (especially with Rodinal). And I agree and also do this.

Side note: in the testing that I have done which can be written on the head of a pin; you should agitate Rodinal 1+50 at a maximum or maybe I should say minimum of 3 times each 4 minutes. Which means 3 times every 3 to 4 minutes works.
