I've looked around on the web (and have ordered all three, or four, really, editions of the darkroom cookbook) but in all I haven't found anything about Patrick Gainer's PCK recipe to which you keep referring. Would you be willing to post it up someday?

Here are a couple more. The doorway was shot with FP4 rated at ISO 50 and the trees shot on Ilford Delta 100 at ISO 100. Both developed in Ilfotech LC29 1:100 for 60 mins. (I've still not managed to crack this URL thing.) The Delta 100 shot has produced the results with which I am so far most pleased.

Not Tom, but from the man (P Gainer) himself:
"In case you missed it somewhere along the line, get some triethanolamine (TEA), some ascorbic acid (erythorbic acid is as good) and some phenidone. Mix 200 ml of TEA with 18 grams of ascorbic acid and 0.5 grams of phenidone and heat the mixture until it dissolves. It may have to go to 180 F or so. This will make 10 liters of 1+50 working solution that should give fairly close to the developing times you are using, but please make a throwaway test first."

I just pulled a 4x5 HP-5 sheet exposed at around ISO 250 and stand developed in HC-110 1+100 out of the fixer tray. Phew, large format, it is looking pretty good. The negative is maybe a bit underdeveloped, so right now the second sheet is in the developer for a bit longer. As I have no means to scan 4x5 negatives a contact print may follow later.
The sheet is Ilford HP-5@~250, 500ml water, 5ml HC-110, 25 min full stand development.
Edit: The second sheet was not straight in the film holder but is looking a bit more dense. Oh well, first try.

I just had my first as well, FP4+ that my gf shot few years ago. I decided it was a perfect film for a first trial of the method - if anything goes wrong I can blame her shooting technique, age of film etc
Rodinal 1:100, 1 hour. Just dried, I'll send it for scanning in the morning. So far, looks good, maybe a bit underexposed if anything.

maybe I should mention it here too:
My favourite developers right now are the Rodinal/HC-110 mix and Acufine stock used and replinshed as they are. The Rodinal /HC110 is for two litres: 30ml of rodinal 09 concentrate and 30ml of HC 110 syrup. I develop a batch and replish it from one litre fresh with 15cc both rodinal and HC 110. the development times are 6-7 minutes for Double x and 8-9 minutes for 70mm Aerocon II (plus -X) The Acufine gives 400 asa for Double x on 6-7 minutes, replinshed normally with Acufine replinsher. If I want GRAIN it is Rodinal 1-50 for Ralph Gibson grainy/sharp look...

Hmm, I have finished a roll of HP-5 today. There was an earlier question about how it would look in HC-110. I guess I will give stand development together with a roll of Tri-X a run and report back later. I am not in the mood for agitation today.

Hmm, I used HC-110 1+100 at 20C for 35 minutes full stand. Film was exposed at 400 or so. The HP-5 came out quite thin, I spare you the results. Here are two shots from the Tri-X roll.
I must admit, my exposures were quite off here and there. I guess I was using fully automatic cameras a bit too much lately. Time to retune. Back to basics.

This is the classic trix version. Very nice but had some fixing issues here.

This is from my old Kiev 88. Delta 100 also comes out great in Stand dev.
Each one was souped for about an hour with only some initial agitation.
