looks big, yes...

Interesting, but ultimately, too big and too expensive for my needs at 24mm. It is f/2 though...

In your proposal from another thread of using the 16-50 zoom at 16 only, when u compare the size of this lens vs the zoom at 16, which is bigger?

Gary

Gary, I would think this lens is bigger... but ultimately, both are too big! ;) That said, we are talking about f/2 vs. f/3.5.

For me.. Between the metabones speedbooster and leica m mount adapter have solved the holes in the Fuji lens lineup that still exist for me.. So not sure right now if I would pick up any additional lenses. I have their 14-18-27-35-60 and xe1 kit zoom.

My standard two lens setup puts the 27 on the xe1 w/ 14 in the bag. The xp1 ends up w/ the other lenses or one of the adapters.

There was a time I really wanted a 16 from Fuji.

14 is more versatile since it can be cropped easily to 24. If u don't plan to print big maybe even 28.

What I use my 21 for
- wider Pano - i consider 15-21 fov the domain of the typical Pano.. But I have shot Pano w/ tele lenses before as well.
- tighter spaces
- buildings w/ less keyhole (not sure right term) effect, although pp can fix most of these issues these days.
- more foreground detail in landscape shots
- where I want enormous depth of field
- funny looking people (well not really.. Just joking :) )

16mm is one long step in from 14mm :p
Zeiss 12mm, Fuji 14mm, now this 16mm seriously…. use your feet not your millimeters :D
