I just bought a crippled broken meter leica CL and I would like a very small lens. I want either a brand new Skopar pancake 2 or a used not in mint condition rokkar. I am not concened about the focal length difference. Would you go fo the new skopar or a very old used Rokkar? Bye the way if they were both new, I would choose the Rokkar, but in this case, maybe a new lens is the better choice, I am not sure. I am very excited to get this not so perfect camera. I plan to use a hand meter with it, Ive come a long way from my ex GRD 2 from 2 weeks ago. Thanks for your help.

I'd go with the Rokkor because of the lens signature. It's really wonderful, and it's a stop faster than the pancake lens. Rokkor is also better constructed, and I would personally assume that it would be in better working condition, used, than a Skopar would be after a few years.

I'd go with the Rokkor. In fact, that was the first lens I decided to go with for my first M mount camera, also a CL. No regrets. I made my decision based on some of the reasons expressed by my fellow New Yorker, lic4, and the fact that most of the Rokkors I came across seemed in fine condition.

Actually, I wanted the smallest lens possible, but now I am thinking about getting the Nokton and saving up and finding a really nice rokkor or leica, for a compact lens. I almost bought a Rokkor on the net today but it was sold, I was to late, but maybe it was a good thing cause it was not mint and probably a 6 out of 10 and the warehouse didnt know too much about it. I was nervous about the Nokton cause it seems that people either love it or hate it. I am more interested in black and white photograhy, mostly out doors and it rains a lot in Vancouver. Should I get single coat or multi coat? Thanks
