Well the Medium Format bug has bitten and I'm now looking for the Rollei TLR that many say is the only one to use. I relaize that opinions vary, but where can I find one of these cameras? The "bay" makes me very squeamish, and the comments of late from many of the members here about Adorama and B&H also concern me.

Let me know if you have ideas on where to acquire one of these cameras. I'll also post on the TLR forum here.

Many Thanks,

Scott

where's the TLR forum?

The 2.8F is a great shooter, but so is the 3.5. You can save a few bucks by not getting the F models, most of the meters are off slightly, you'll get more accurate light readings from a handheld meter anyway.

Watch the classifieds here, I see quite a few Rolleis go thru here often.

good luck,
Todd

Have you had a look at KEH? Try to find a Bargain grade there and you'll be happy.

I personally have no need for the built in meter.

I shoot with a 2.8 E3 - which directly preceeded the F, but costs less, and can be found without meters. Fantastic cameras.

I've had good luck with Koh's (not mistaken for KEH). I remember that Jay (the loveable dentist from the old PNet days) held Mr. Koh in high esteem, also.

I share the anti built in meter sentiment. I carry a little handheld with me at all times, and was happy to pay less for the body because of it.
Peference for Xenotar, here.
Also, bought mine on EBay and did just fine.
