Rollei 35 - film loading problem

I'm trying to load a new roll of film into my Rollei 35 (sn 322****) like I have done hundreds of times before. Now the loading fails every time. The problem is the slit where you fit the film doesn't tighten when I turn the receiving film spool backwards and the film slides out of the slit.

Is there anything I can do by myself? I could take it to a specialist but I think it would cost as much as another camera from *bay.

Are you certain the rewind mechanism is disengaged (try to rotate the sprocket wheel manually to be sure)? The take-up spindle is a two-piece arrangement. I have not experienced the problem you describe, but I did have an issue with the film ripping on rewind that was related to the friction fit between the inner and outer take-up spindle. That was solved by lubrication, but I'm not sure that would help you.

Woohoo, it worked! I don't know what caused the hickup. I played a bit with the camera and rotated the film spindle back and forth. Now the film loaded without a problem. Perhaps the old lady Rollei just wanted to say it needs a CLA ;-p
