Sorry, I meant elevation of the water level in the Lake. The natural rim of Lake Tahoe is 6223 ft above sea level. The maximum legal elevation is 6229.1, although the Lake is not allowed to rise that high, to avoid shoreline damage. Last year, when I took this photograph, the elevation of the Lake was below the rim, i.e. below 6223. As of today, the elevation is 6225.33 feet, which is still well below the maximum legal elevation. Fun fact: the top 6 ft. of Lake Tahoe, i.e. between 6223 and 6229 feet, is a federal reservoir, w/ water released from the Lake in order to serve water rights downstream.
