I've got three little problems in my collection. OK, I've got a bigger problem that that, in that I have always been fascinated by 110 cameras since I was a kid. Someday maybe I'll get over it, but I haven't yet...

Years ago I got a Rollei A110, and not so long ago I a Rollei E110. Both of these cameras wind their film by pushing the telescoping bodies closed, and then pulling them open again. The A110 stopped advancing its film this summer. Otherwise it still seems like it works fine. The E110 jammed closed not long after I got it, although I can open it after I press a little button that is exposed if I slide the camera open a millimeter or two. It too seems to be fully functional, except that opening it this way doesn't advance the film, so pressing the shutter only lights the LED's inside the viewfinder.

I also recently got a Voigtlander Vitoret 110. After I got it I read that it was also designed by Rollei. It uses a sliding switch beneath the lens to wind the film, that also closes all the covers on the lenses, and opens them again. Like the Rollei 110's once you've wound the film you can close the camera and open it again without winding to the next frame, which is kinda cool about this little camera and the Rolleis too. Even before I could finish shooting the first roll I didn't slide the winder all the way closed before opening it, and then it was jammed closed. Harumph!

These little guys probably worked fine for 40 years before I got them. Frustrating.

Does anyone have a repair manual for either the Rollei A110 or the E110? Also, does anyone have a repair manual for the Vitoret 110? The Voigtlander looks like it might be simple enough to try to open up at work, so I'll try to take it in tomorrow and look inside it. The little Rolleis don't look so simple.

I appreciate any help you may have.

Thanks,
Scott

Well, I got the Vitoret's covers unstuck at work today, but the shutter now doesn't close after shooting. I sure wish I had a maintenance manual for this camera. Also, I couldn't remove the inner frame from the plastic shell because the rivet through the hot shoe holds that end in the camera. Frustrating, but intriguing too.

If anyone has experience with these Rollei cameras, please pipe up.

Please. :)

Today on my lunch hour I found the A110 repair manual. Gotta learn some German now. :) There are sections written in English, luckily.

If you could point me towards a copy of that, I'd be most obliged. I can't ever see myself shooting 110 cameras (though a Rollei would be at the top of the list of candidates if I ever did). But I try to maintain an archive of repair manuals to help owners who need to work on their cameras, so if you have a source for it I'd like to add it to the database.
Cheers,
Brett
