grainhound
Well-known
I won 5 rolls of Rollei Scanfilm CN 400 at the Montreal meet-up over the May long weekend. Three rolls of 120, & two 36 exp rolls of 135, all of which is more useful than a rapidwinder for me. (How’s that working, Frank?) I did a half baked test with my Mamiya 330, figuring that with only 12 shots, I could do it in less than a month. I’m not sure they’ll be of much use to anyone, but I’ve posted 5 shots on flickr - because it’s a lot easier to post there. No resizing, for example.
These are not great shots & I got cheaper scans. 3 of the shots are much too clearly digitized, & I almost left them out because the digital mess interferes with what you can see. The desaturated colour shows, however. The two trees at the Beach shot is my fav of the 12, & I may get it enlarged, but the scan is terrible. It seems that leaves against a light sky makes a mess of jaggies, especially when you don’t pay for a more expensive scan. The unexpected look of the sky - it was actually fairly dull - made it worth including.
This seems to be a film for special purposes; the net has more info for those interested.
