My Rolleiflex 2.8C waist level finder stuck and cannot open.

It has worked fine since I got it until I first used the eye level feature then after closed it stuck and cannot. I was not sure that because of I did not close it properly or anything just happen to go wrong.

I saw 4 small screws attach the finder to the body. If I remove them, can I easily fix the finder problem or I may screw up the focus alignment?

The camera was CLA about a year ago and it function well and took beautiful photos. I try to avoid sending it for repair or another CLA if possible.

Need help, thanks you in advance.

Yes, you can remove the viewing hood without worrying about disturbing the focus. Good luck!

Most likely the problem is above the ground glass screen. When you remove the hood- the four screws (jiggle and pull back and up)- you'll probably need to remove the screen.

Is removing and putting back the focusing screen a high skill demanding job? I have never worked on any camera before?

Depnds on you. There is a clip at the top and bottom. You press it down and tilt it forward to undo. Be careful- it is a spring and can fly off. Put one finger on the clip while manipulating the center part to get it to unclip.

Before oyu do that, you might jostle the hood around. Turn the camera over and jiggle it. Keep playing pushing nad pulling and pressing down and pulling up, etc. Most likely you didn't close the magnifier assembly all the way home and it is snagging. You might be able to get it to either release or to snap into its right position amd everything will be fine.

Thank you.

if you remove the screen do it in a clean environment with some gloves they tend to marr and scratch easily
