One afternoon, when I just got the Summicron 35/2 IV (7-element), I walked along the street and saw this rusted railing:
So I messed with the R-D1s in-camera settings and took dozens of photos.
When I looked at these photos, I found that I haven't stood before a subject and take dozens of photos recently. At least after this series. I don't know if it's a bad or good.

With these type of subjects - lighting is all-important, and it's worth experimenting at different times of day, with sun at different angles - etc. to enhance texture.
Cheers, Dave.

Great shots. I like them all, except the last one. The third dimension in it introduced by the hole somehow disturbs it for me. I imagine them beeing printed, framed in black frames with white passepartouts and hanging on a long wall. Very nice!

Ha ha, thanks. The last one is actually the exit of this series. "Time to go back to reality."Great shots. I like them all, except the last one. But thanks for the idea! Printing them in 3x5 or 4x6 and then hanging them together should really look nice! I gotta try this.
