One afternoon, when I just got the Summicron 35/2 IV (7-element), I walked along the street and saw this rusted railing:

So I messed with the R-D1s in-camera settings and took dozens of photos.

When I looked at these photos, I found that I haven't stood before a subject and take dozens of photos recently. At least after this series. I don't know if it's a bad or good.

With these type of subjects - lighting is all-important, and it's worth experimenting at different times of day, with sun at different angles - etc. to enhance texture.
Cheers, Dave.

Great shots. I like them all, except the last one. The third dimension in it introduced by the hole somehow disturbs it for me. I imagine them beeing printed, framed in black frames with white passepartouts and hanging on a long wall. Very nice!

Ha ha, thanks. The last one is actually the exit of this series. "Time to go back to reality."

But thanks for the idea! Printing them in 3x5 or 4x6 and then hanging them together should really look nice! I gotta try this.
