Sabine Weiss RIP

Oh such a shame! She belonged to the generation of photographers that captured the 50s so well. There used to be a documentary on YouTube around her work, including an interview she gave some years ago. I can't find it anywhere.

Many thanks for this. I’ve always loved the work of her contemporaries such as Boubat, Doisneau and Ronis, but for some strange reason I hadn’t come across her before. What a lot I’ve missed - but at least I can catch up now.

When taking photos for myself, "I wasn't worried about perfect focus."

Something to think about for us lens-testers.

Thank you for this post!!! She is one of the greatest photographers from Paris. And I love her photography and I have few of her photo books in my collection.

You are kind but right now, notwithstanding my love of the French, my spoken French has lapsed to understanding not much more than "Chevrolet Coupe."
