safety film?

I picked up a used bulk loader a few weeks back for $5.00 and it still had a full 100 ft roll in it. The guy I bought it from didn't know what the loader was let alone how long the film was in it. So, I rolled up some for grins and shot it, souped it and it says its kodak safety film 5062. It seems to like to be developed for 100-200 ISO and doesn't like to be agitated much (supper grainy). Do any of you know what this stuff is exactly? 😕 If you do what is the best way to shot and dev this stuff?

this came up a couple days ago in this thread. Basically, the safety means it not as flammable as old(er) film.

okay, thanks for the link but I was wondering more about the best way to shoot and dev it. It does have a number, 5062, would that indicate a specific type of safety film?

d'oh. sorry! I' don't know about that. I'm guessing you found this page googling, though. The writer uses Microdol and follows the instructions.

5062 is Kodak Plus-X film. It is rated at ISO 125. You can find development information at the following address:
