I will travel to Paris to see the Doisneau exhibition... I never travel out Spain and see Paris and Doisneau photos will be the be best gift for me.
In addition, I must have spoken with the Santa´s reindeer if they can find to me one person that wants to buy or to trade my Hexar RF ...
Best wishes!

I was pretty impressed, most of these books have been out of print for quite some time. These novels got me curious about orchids when I was a teenager, but I didn't really get into them until a year or so ago. I'm horrible at keeping plants alive but one of my closest friends has a great collection of orchids. She promised I could come photograph them once they bloom again.popstar said:A complete set, huh?!? Wow! That is a nice gift. I enjoy a good Nero Wolfe every now and then. I have a stack sitting near me right now. Don't believe they publish too many like that anymore. Does Wolfe have anything to do with your enjoyment of orchids by chance?!
Good answer on the last bit. Seems you have your priorities straight, not that Nero Wolfe would approve!![]()

A very interesting photo book. My daughter got me the 'Vitamin Ph, New Perspectives in Photography' book by Phaidon. Has anyone else seen this book?
My wife got me a black Luigi 1/2 case and neck strap for my Leica II, very cool.

I posted something similar but I'll respond to your question ... I'm just too giddy not to:
"I called my Uncle to thank him for my $30 Starbucks card on Christmas. He is aging and does not get around well nor is his vision well. It's been a while since I've talked to him. Well, we got around to talking about photography and cameras. I told him I collect and use Leicas. He was suprised that I knew quite a bit about Leicas. He told me about his 4 Leicas ... 2-M3s, 1-M6, and one that I want to ask you all about because he vaugly discussed this one. Some how he aquired a Leica in WW2. He started to trail off because he was tired. To end this he asked me again if I was a serious Leica user. I said yes. The next thing I hear on the phone is, "They're yours."
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What can this model be? Was it "aquired" from Germany during WW2? Was there an official US issue (I didn't think that was possible since you couldn't by Mercedes then). Anyone know the official story of WW2 Leicas? Anyone?"

Thanks for posting this! I received some cameras, C330 from my father, AE-1 from an aunt, and this event touched me and reminded me of the treasures I have received from those who have gone before me.
Treasure these cameras and use them. I'm approaching the time when auto-focus is my friend and I don't want to see an end to the process.

wow, all this in addition to the 4 Leicas you already have!? I say, you are far too lucky.
Maybe the WW2 Leica was a Luftwaffen-eigentum snatched off of a (POW?) German? If it is lucky lucky lucky LUCKY you.

Makes me want to donate a few that I already to a local organiztion called Youth in Focus ... a center for underprivilaged or troubled youths to learn about photography and history ... and what to do in the darkroom to boot! I'd like to see some kids have some luck too. But my uncle's collection I think needs to stay in the family.

Sounds like a great cause.
But like you, I would want to keep those in the family.
