Bump... anyone still thinking 26th through 28th?
Well, let's see...we will be down on the 25th...possibly the 26th but it all depends on a number of things.
Duane and Cal will be there on the 26th IIRC, I have no idea about the weekend folks.

And I, of course, will be there Friday the 19th through Sunday the 21st.

Gear Whore #1
Our itinerary is that we will arrive on Monday July 22d around noon and we will be leaving Friday July 26th in the late afternoon.
I'll likely bring the Monochrom with a 28 Cron. The files from this camera are amazing, especially with modern Leica glass. I found that the use of filters compresses the contrast range in a great way that either eliminates clipping or drastically moderates clipping. Using filters also enhances the mid-range for that medium format look.
My friend Steve says, "You can't print what's not there." I suggest bringing a SD card to take a few shots with a Monochrom to post process.
I know this excursion is brief, but I expect to come back to Savannah in a little bit for further exploration.

Hmmm...I hope we can somehow get at least some of us together. Cal, I think a late lunch around 1:00pm on Thursday will work for us and maybe Duane will be available too. Anyone else? You are all welcome!
If I could afford it, I would stay several days to meet everybody but the trip may be too demanding, physically, for us to do it in a day so we may have to find inexpensive lodging on Thursday night. No reservations...just going to show up and go with the flow!
Now, having said that, can we somehow do a virtual show-and-tell of our individual experiences in Savannah after the trip? I would love to see some photos of Savannah through YOUR eyes...so, maybe we can do a thread dedicated to this excursion only?

Sh!t, guys, these get-togethers seem usually to be positioned as getting together to try out each other's cameras, show off gear, eat and drink; but y'all are making really nice photos! I really need to join you one of these times and watch & learn composition-wise, never mind the gear talk. Timing of last couple of get-togethers hasn't worked for me, but sometime one will!

Ha, ha!!! ABSOLUTELY!
Cal had his MM (and more)...Duane had his M-E (and more)...and I was carrying the M3 with 50 Nokton 1.5 , and the Leica X1, and the Leica R4 with the 80 Summilux. Great people! Great times together! And, yes, the gear was extraordinary as well.
Dave, next trip for us is Charleston and then back to Asheville in the Fall. These are easy, fairly inexpensive trips, so plan ahead, hope you can make one soon!
