Hi Guys, want to warn you about two scams on ebay

Both cameras were painted by me and this "seller" doens`t have them, so he cannot sell them.
Ebay user carar-63 is trying to steal from you.
Be very careful on this.

Thanks for the heads up. Have you reported this to eBay? This is a common scam. Stealing images off the internet and then "selling" the item on eBay. Dealt with this a lot in the early 2000's, reported each case to eBay. They took down some, left others up.

I see that the seller has 100% positive rating but none of it is as a seller. All of the positive feedback he's received has been as a buyer. I hope no one loses their money as a result of his fake posting.

You have to be careful here too Raid. I have had more bad experiences buying on RFF than on ebay, at least ebay has excellent buyer's support.

I lost $450 to someone at RFF who mailed me a broken scanner. I raved about it, but it did not help me. He took my money and disappeared. I still have the EPSON scanner V700 that sits on a table without use as it does not work.

I wouldn't be sure about that. Maybe the scammers are doing things differently now than they were when I was dealing with this, but back then, they would just hack dormant accounts that had 100% feedback, hack the PayPal address, and post stolen photos from the internet. You could always tell if you looked through their feedback history, most had no feedback for the previous few years.

The situation is even worse if you’re a seller. We were victimized by a buyer in Detroit who claimed the items we sent her were “not as described.“ eBay refunded the money to her from our account and supported her when she sent us back junk instead of the items we had sold (which were in perfect condition). So she has our items, and the money she used to pay for those items. Ebay also supported her when she posted two negative comments which completely negated the 600+ positive comments others had posted previously. eBay completely supported this woman when we explained the situation to them; their “seller protection plan” is nonexistent. eBay terminated our seller account when we refused to shell out more money over this affair. Thereby this woman, with eBay’s help, destroyed our eBay business. She has blocked all seller comments from her site and only allows buyer comments for the numerous cheap items she sells. Clearly she has targeted other sellers previous to us. eBay users beware!

Raid, I once bought an Epson flatbed scanner which arrived as "broken" (red blinking when I tried to launch a scan and nothing else) in a poor package. An argument with the seller didn't sort things out. After a while I realized that this dumb/lazy person hadn't locked the mechanism before shipping (I had asked her to, of course). I could open up the scanner and the culprit was the geartrain belt which had got out of its pulleys. It turned out to be an easy fix and the scanner was resurrected. That was a good opportunity to clean the inner side of the scanner glass.

I've caught 3 new eBay listings in the last 2 days with the exact same pictures and descriptions of cameras that have recently sold with Buy It Now prices around 40% off the the selling price of those sold cameras. Each time the seller is different and feedback is low or none. Auction period is also short, 3 days average instead of the 7 or 10 day. I report them every time and let eBay investigate.

Been scammed as a seller so many times as described above that the only way I use eBay is listing an item with "Buy It Now". The Buy it now price is 30% higher than what I would sell it for here. The 30% covers eBay, PayPal and loss fees.

I've found the Epson's are pretty easy to open up, I hope it's as simple as this!
