Hello everyone! I'm in the market for a cheap-ish (sub $200) scanner to digitize some film negatives. I was wondering if there are any printer/scanner combo's that can scan film. I was looking at the canon mp980 but I keep reading that it sucks ink down like chocolate milk.
I need the printer aspect for the upcoming school year and having a film capable scanner in the same machine would really make my day. If you know of a decent dedicated scanner that would also be helpful.
Thanks for the advice!

Hello Mike!
For your price range the Epson V500 or it's replacement, the V600, not 'grain sharp', but decent. Or a Plustek, dunno how much the run these days, but it's somewhere around there. Haven't a clue regarding a combo thing, I doubt the result would be worth the trouble...

Thanks, I saw some V500's on amazon for 140-ish. That isn't too bad at all.
