Scanner with decent 120 film holder?

Is there a scanner that has a 120 film holder that is actually usable?

The ones I've seen are terrible (film slips out, etc) and I usually end
up just laying the 120 negs down on the flat bed.

The Epson V500 stock holders are not that bad, but don't really hold the film flat. I really like the BetterScanning holders with the glass inserts. Don't know about other scanners.

Yeah, big thumbs up. They make a world of difference. Get an Epson and the inserts with glass and you'll be all set.

Regular holder + 1$ dollar glas insert cut by your local shop -> decent

You can use ICE with plain glas, not with ANG.

You can buy custom cut ANG for $5.

So, for $6 you can have both. That is 3 rolls of TriX. Or a fancy dinner for two at that burrito place if you stick to rice and beans (as one should anyway). Not bad.

?? I'll bite; do you let the ICE melt when using it or do you have to make sure it does not melt? someone who has no idea about scanning would like to know.

You only let the ICE melt if you are using a liquid mount scanner.

I've used the Microtek I900 flatbed which also has film holders for 120, 35mm and 4x5. The 120 holders hold 2 6x4.5, 1 6x7 or 1 6x6 frame.
These holders are inserted underneath the flatbed and do a great job of holding the negatives flat. Not a perfect scanner but a good one. I've used it for 6 years now.

For me they were worth every single cent as they provided much sharper scans at a much higher PPI 2400 vs 800 then the holders that came with Epson 4180 that I'm using to scan medium format film
