scanning prints

Does anyone here scan black and white prints? I haven't been able to find any information about this, but kind of difficult search terms to find what I'm looking for.

I'm trying to get my scans to look more like my actual prints. Maybe the trick is to scan in color. I know I have to up the contrast, but my prints look richer and warmer than what I see on the computer.

Any tips? I'm scanning with Epson scan on my v500 and editing tiffs in lightroom.

Certainly if your prints are warmer than the scans appear, then you need to be scanning in RGB (colour) rather than in grayscale mode. As with your developing - experimenting will give you the answers! Please share the results!

I've scanned plenty B+W prints in the past. You should get good results. And it should be easy to add a little warmth after the scan if necessary. As suggested scan in colour.
RC Glossy scans best. I scan at twice the size I need and then downsize. That gets rid of a lot of scan artefacts(dust specs) when scanning prints.
