Hi,
I bought a secondhand V700 yesterday (because I want to start shooting 4x5 as well - ohgodohgodohgod, what did I start...) and one of the added bonuses is that I can scan slides much more quickly now, hooray! My parents have asked me to scan their slides (thousands) so extra speed is always welcome.
One problem I've ran into though, is that with Epson Scan, the image is heavily cropped. A little from the sides and a lot from the top and bottom. I had started scanning some of the slides on a V600 and had no problems there. In Epson Scan there is one setting where you can select the input field and it's at like 34x21mm instead of 36x24mm. If I try to change that number, it jumps back to the old number after I'm done editing which is really weird.
Does anyone know what's going on?
I've got Vuescan, but haven't quite figured out yet what the best way is to scan slides with it. And it's way, way slower than Espon Scan is in my experience. I don't need very high-quality scans for my parents' slides. Just a quick and dirty auto-scan is fine.
