Scanning with a digital camera

I’ve been holding off on negative lab pro for so long. All of these nice color scans make it very tempting.

It’s a one time purchase?

NLP is great. Yes, It's a one-time purchase.
He does say, "It's possible at some point I will offer some kind of paid extras or updates, but I don't know what those would be." However, Nate Johnson has delivered major improvements since launch and with hints of very interesting things to come. I highly recommend.

New camera scanning setup - D610, Micro Nikkor 60mm F2.8 D, DIY copy stand with Manfrotto Super Clamp and generic ball head, Abdi Camera film carrier and iPhone 11 in a Lego holder:
How is the Abdi carrier working for you? I'm super tempted to pick it up but I haven't seen too much about it. Does it hold the film pretty flat?

It works great and, at least to my eyes, the film is held flat. The $150 price point and capability for both 35mm and 120 in a single carrier won me over from the Negative Supply carrier. It doesn't have the knob to pull the film through the carrier, but I can live without that.

Mid-Century modern dry-cleaners. Rolleifflex 2.8C, Fuji Acros 100, Rodinal 1:50. D7000 scan.

how's about the quality, compares to those scans from nikon coolscan 4000?
could you share your set up using to digitalize film?
thanks!

I used an old Nikon D3100 mounted to a LPL copystand and with the mentioned AF-G NIKKOR Macro 40/2.8 lens. Film strips in the 8200Ai holder on top of a Hakuba lightpad. I used AF, aperture f7.1 and remote controlled the camera using my MacBook Air early 2015 running on High-Sierra with Parallels/Windows10 Pro and a free DigiCam Controlsoftware. Works well despite the 4GB RAM limit and is a lot faster than any dedicated film scanner. I am testing this to have a better scanning setup for Minox films.

My impression is that the quality is better but it depends absolutely on the quality of the filmholder.
