I did use a paper coffee filter to filter my fixer which seems to have silver precipitate.

I'm low maintenance: I drink instant coffee and cheap spirits.

I cannot compare both your camera's since I have only one i.e. the X-E1. My experience is very positive and so much that I sold my Leica M8.2, and that I shoot more with the X-E1 and take it more with me then I ever did with the Leica. What I especially like about it - apart from its superior image quality (indeed superior also compared to the Leica) - is its light weight, and that it enables me to keep using my beloved Leica lenses... Therefore however I cannot comment on the use of the XF lenses - until now I used the camera only in M mode. Looking at your pictures and at those of others, the quality of the Fuji glass must be great.

no insult meant to those who may suffer from this affliction...

i have both the xpro1 and the xe1 bodies and a few fuji lenses as well.
sometimes i shoot with both bodies and sometimes i shoot with only one.
at times i use the bigger xp1 body exclusively and other times i use the smaller xe1 body exclusively.

when shooting with the bigger body i appreciate it size and the ability to use an optical finder as well as the evf.
when shooting with the smaller body i also appreciate it's size and love using the evf alone.
i like using the rear lcd on the back of both bodies.
whats strange is how i can really like and focus on each body when using it without the other.
if i were left with the xp1 i could be very happy having only it...but if left with only the xe1...i could be happy with it!

I like both my X-Pro1 & my X100s, and also switch between them, or take one or the other out singly depending on the mood I'm in but, where I differ is if I was pushed to choose one or the other to dispose of it would be ten X100s. Yes, I could get used to just using the 35 mm lens only but I'm used to having the 50 mm on my X-Pro1 with the options of the 90 & 28 mm lenses. More flexible in the end. I went out a few days where I had both cameras and I made the point of only using the X100s and I enjoyed doing so, and I didn't once reach into my bag to take out the X-Pro1 so it maybe its a case of learn to use the camera I have... Hmmm!
