A friend suggested this lens years ago. Someone had a lit if them and wss selling them off on the auction site. Any experiences or comments? Looks like a very high quality expensive piece. I will try it when my new DR is comlete on my Bessler 23C. Hoping for any insight available. Cheers!

Oh a couple iPhone pics of the lens markings.

I have not used the Betavaron enlarging lenses. The only one that I know that used them, when he still was shooting black/white was Costa Manos of Magnum fame. Oh, his Boston darkroom was to die for too!!!!
I have 7 16x20' prints of his, all printed with the Betavaron and they are pretty spectacular images (both as images and darkroom skills). You can zoom the image and then fine tune it with the lens.
Neither of my Leica enlargers can use it so I have stayed away from the lens - but it is supposedly about as good as it gets and the fine-tuning obviously makes a big difference, according to Costa. Exactly how it works I dont know - but like anything darkroom related - you work it until you get the hang of it - and then never change it.
