Screw-mount lenses on Monochrom

Today I tried the Summar 50mm f/2 and the Voigtlander 21mm f/4 screw-mount lenses on the Monochrom with some success. For safety's sake I wound a thick rubber band around the extended lens shaft of the Summar, rendering it impossible to push back in to the body - I was worried it might touch the sensor. No worries about that now.

Any LTM lenses will works on any M.
Maybe something odd like old 135 LTM lens, I recall it has issues on M camera with focus.

Your first one was with choice to make. It looks little bit dark...

Hey Rob,

LTM lenses open up wonderful possibilities on the Leica Monochrom. I've got a first generation Leica M9M and regularly use Nikkor-SC 5cm f1.4, Nikkor-PC 8.5cm f2.0, Nikkor-QC 13.5cm f3.5 LTM lenses and Canon 28mm f2.8, 35mm f1.8 & 35mm f2.0 LTM lenses with it. I like the way they render with lower contrast. The Canon 28mm & 35mm f1.8 are a bit soft around the edges wide open, but even that can give a nice vintage feel to images.

I guess I've been lucky as my Nikkor-QC 13.5cm f3.5 lens focuses wonderfully with my Leica M9M:

That looks great, Tim. It may be old news to you guys, but it's all new to me. Very happy with my LM1 or M9M, whatever it's labelled. Great to know my IIIG lenses can be used on it.

Here are two images that I made when I had the Voigtlander 50mm f 3.5 Heliar in Leica screw mount. It's a really good lens but the exercise of purchasing and trying the lens helped me realize that I am content with my Zeiss C- Sonnar 50 f 1.5 and 50 Summicron v5.

Playing around with the lens,the first is a reflections shot from a swing-out window -my office at work. The other is from a hotel room.

Good shots, DwF, but I can understand what you mean re the Sonnar and Summi lenses being your go-to.

Was drawn right into your dishes BTW. Yeah, they are go-to and ahh when I see results. I do get trying lenses and do it a fair bit myself but those 50s are more than adequate.
